Their six-month relationship played out largely under the radar, but now Nickelback's frontman Chad Kroeger and Avril Lavigne want to shout it from the rooftops: they are getting married!
The Canadian rockers met in February, when Chad and Avril first got together to write a song for her upcoming studio album. Chad, 37, and Avril, 27, fell hard, because on August 8th, Chad presented the Canadian songstress with a 14-carat diamond ring.
This will be the first marriage for Chad. Avril was previously married to Sum 31's Deryck Whibley, they divorced in 2009.

UPDATE:
People Magazine has gotten their hands on a photo of Avril and Chad together. The photo also gives plenty of opportunity to admire Avril's 14-carat, pear-shaped engagement ring!
