Chris and Adrienne had already tied the knot officially in April, but that wasn't a big event, since Chris NBA schedule was superfull. The three day event last weekend made up for their quiet nuptials in April. It drew out 300 guests, Serena Williams, Gabrielle Union, Gabrielle Anwar, and Miami Heat teammates Dwayne Wade and LeBron James were among the wedding guests. The celebration kicked off Friday night with a Latin-themed casino party, inspired by Cuba in the 1950s.
Adrienne wore an Oscar de la Renta wedding gown to the Saturday nuptials. It was a strapless dress, accented with a belt and a Chantilly lace veil with crystal accents on silk tulle. In honour of the adagio 'something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue', $10,000 Christian Louboutin shoes were custom-made for her, the adagio-part? The heels were painted blue, instead of red, especially for her.
The reception party on Saturday must have looked beautiful. According to reports, seating cards were suspended by silk organza ribbons from crystal chandeliers, there were countless strung orchids and everything was glowing in the backdrop of a gazillion custom scented candles. Then there was the photo booth, where guests could snap photos of themselves. The printed photos were later projected onto a screen in the main ballroom. The icing on the cake was a display of fireworks.
A wedding guest tells People Magazine, "it was the Royal Wedding of Miami. Every detail... down to infusing scents into every stage of production, from invitations to areas where the wedding festivities took place. There were eight essential oils and natural ingredients created for the couple and their guests. It was totally awesome." The guest continues, "to round out the weekend, Chris gave Adrienne a Cartier necklace and she gave him an Aston Martin. Everything was over-the-top and special. They will never forget it."
