Sir Paul McCartney asked his American girlfriend Nancy Shevell for her hand in marriage and presented her with a vintage Cartier diamond engagement ring. According to the
Telegraph the couple has decided to tie the knot during a small, intimate wedding in London, with only close family and friends present. After the ceremony the couple will fly to New York, where they'll throw a party for Nancy's family and friends. The Telegraph quotes a friend as saying, "Paul loves Nancy very much, but does not want a big wedding."
The musician, most famous for
The Beatles, was married to his first wife, Linda, from 1969 until her death in 1998. The couple had four children: Heather, Mary, Stella, and James. In 2002 Paul married Heather Mills, they separated in 2006 and divorced (on not that great terms, to put it mildly) in 2008. They have one daughter together, Beatrice. Nancy was previously married to Bruce Blakeman, with whom she has a son, Arlen.
