Kings of Leon cancels the remainder of their US tour

It seems that Kings of Leon is plagued by some internal problems. Friday night the band cut short a Dallas concert, after singer Caleb Followill fell ill. The band performed 11 songs, but already at song four Caleb started complaining that he was losing his voice, saying "If you guys would please help me sing, I'd love it." 50 minutes into the show it was clear that Caleb really wasn't feeling well, "I'm gonna go backstage for a second and I'm gonna vomit. I'm gonna drink a beer and I'm gonna come back out and I'm gonna play three more songs." Unfortunately, he never returned on stage. Bassist Jared Followill and guitarist Matthew Followill stepped up to the mic, after it became clear that Caleb wouldn't return, saying, "Caleb's just a little unfit to play the rest of the show," and "We love you guys so much... I know you guys fucking hate us. I'm so sorry." They added, "It's really not our fault - it's Caleb. He can't play the rest of the show. We will be back as soon as possible." Was Caleb, 29, suffering from the heat or is more going on?

After the concert Jared tweeted, "Dallas, I cannot begin to tell you how sorry I am. There are internal sicknesses & problems that have needed to be addressed." Clearly indicating that the band is suffering from more than just the heat wave. Saturday he added, "I love our fans so much. I know you guys aren't stupid. I can't lie. There are problems in our band bigger than not drinking enough Gatorade." Nathan tweeted, "Ashamed & embarassed by last nights fiasco. Can't apologize enough, utterly gutted."

Monday the band's rep announced in a statement that the band will be cancelling the remainder of their US tour. Their first performance will be September 28th, when they'll perform in Canada.

UPDATE [August 2nd, 2011, 21:51]: US Magazine reports that the tour has been cancelled due to Caleb Followill having a drinking problem. A 'source' claims that the other bandmates are urging him to go to rehab, because his drinking is "out of control" and that "it's a dark demon he has been fighting for a while." However, a rep for the band says that the tour has been cancelled, because Caleb has received doctor's orders for vocal rest.
