Kate Hudson and Matthew Bellamy name their son Bing!

Dad Matthew Bell
They have decided!

Initially Kate Hudson and fiance Matthew Bellamy had trouble coming up with a name for their son, but a tweet from Muse singer Matt makes clear that they've decided on a name. Matt tweeted, "So happy! Just had a baby boy, Bingham "Bing" Hawn Bellamy. Born 7Ib 12Oz, on 9th July," and "Mum and baby are strong and healthy. Mum was a warrior, Bing popped out after 4.5 hours of intense pushing!"

Bingham Hawn Bellamy it is! Bing was born last Saturday night in L.A. and weighed in at 7 lbs. 12 oz. A friend of the couple tells US Weekly that Kate and Matt decided on Bing's name on Wednesday.

It is unclear where Bing's name comes from. 'Hawn' is, of course, for Kate's mother, Goldie Hawn. Bingham, however, isn't a typical first name. There are some famous Bingham's: the front man of indie band The Dead Horses is named Ryan Bingham, the discoverer of Machu Picchu in Peru, in 1908, was named Hiram Bingham, and then there's a Bingham County in Idaho, and a town called Bingham in Michigan. I, of course, can't stop thinking of Pride & Prejudice, even though that character was called Charles Bingley (must be my love of P&P).

UPDATE: In a new tweet Matt explains the name Bingham, saying, "For those wondering, Bingham is my mum's maiden name and Bing Russell was Kurt's dad. Family connections all round!" Matt's mom's name is Marilyn Bingham and Kurt Russel's dad's name Bing Russell.
